AFC Chester (Chester City`s official supporters team) have today appealed for City fans who enjoy the cut and thrust of competitive Sunday football to get involved with their supporters team and are also on the lookout for anybody who may want to sponsor the team in their quest for further glory.

AFC Chester compete in the Northern Football Supporters League against teams representing the following clubs; Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers, Leeds United, Barrow, Morecambe, Stalybridge Celtic, Northwich Victoria, Rhyl, Accrington Stanley and that Wrexham lot from over the border!

Last season they defeated Northwich Vics at the new Victoria Stadium to lift the NFSL Challenge Cup, the team`s first piece of silverware and now they are on the lookout for new players to strengthen the team further.

Matches are played on Sunday afternoon`s with travel to away matches organised via minibus. Home games are usually played at the home of Welsh Alliance side, Sealand Rovers in Garden City, Deeside.

If you think you have what it takes and would like to get involved then why not come to one of our weekly training sessions on the Astroturf surface in Blacon for a try-out. Anybody over the age of 16 can play.

The team are also looking for sponsors who can provide money for such things as kit`s, equipment, training, travel costs and after-match hospitality so if you think you can help then get in touch.

Anybody interested in playing or sponsorship should contact the club Chairman, Mike Griffiths on 07751 056379 or email him at chestermike1981@hotmailcom.
