Chester City manager Mark Wright was left fuming after watching his Blues side capitulate in a dire second half display at Vale Park on Tuesday night.

Speaking to the waiting press after seeing his side humiliated against an average Port Vale outfit, Wright slammed Laurence Wilson for costing City the game.

‘Laurence Wilson has cost us dearly in getting sent off. He’s jumped in with the lad going nowhere and the challenge was a disgrace,’ fumed a rather unhappy former Liverpool and England defender, Mark Wright.

‘Laurence has got so much talent in his locker, but he’s not producing it out on the pitch and here he’s gone a good way to costing us the game.

‘How we have lost to them is bizarre. We controlled the first-half and had real chances.

‘I was confident we could go on and win the game in the second-half, but some of my players have started playing five-a-side football instead of what we told them.

‘I’m so annoyed it’s unbelievable.’

Mark will be hoping Chester City can put things Wright when the Blues return to the Deva Stadium this weekend, when they welcome Gillingham for another League Two encounter.
