Speculation has increased that former Chester City Football Club director Paul Baker could be mounting a takeover bid for the Deva Stadium club.

The rumours have intensified after news broke from the South Coast that chairman Paul Baker has stepped down from the board at AFC Bournemouth.

It is reported in Bournemouth that the Hawarden based business man has also sold his share-holding in AFC Bournemouth to a consortium headed by Bournemouth-based businessman Adam Murry.

It remains to be seen if Baker will bid for Chester City, a team he has supported for many years.
