Chester City Football Club are preparing to submit a planning application for an extension to their Deva Stadium.

The scheme is thought not to affect the current capacity at the Deva Stadium but will be an extension to the office and commercial space available on the east side of the ground.

Local media reports suggest the Deva Stadium has been a ‘hotbed of activity in the past couple of days’, as surveyors put the final touches to the club`s planning applications.

‘We have to have our planning application in place with the Council by the end of the month, and the surveyors have been here assisting us with this exciting project,’ said Chester`s chief executive Bob Gray, speaking to the Liverpool Daily Post.

It remains to be seen if the finance to fund this expansion can be raised given the current economic climate.
