Another former Chester City striker has been on the move on Thursday, ahead of the loan transfer deadline.

League Two rivals Accrington Stanley have signed striker Gregg Blundell on a month’s loan from promotion chasing Darlington, who were beaten fair and squarely by Chester City on Tuesday night.

Blundell has struggled for regular first-team football at Darlington this season and has been allowed to link up with Stanley until the end of the year.

Though he has made 16 appearances in League Two, he has started just twice with his only goal coming against Luton Town last month.

He will now see out the rest of 2008 at Accrington and is in line to make his debut in Saturday’s encounter with Bury.

Stanley boss John Coleman has been active on loan deadline day after also agreeing a deal for Wigan Athletic’s young striker Craig Mahon.
