The bookies don’t rate Chester City’s chances of making a splash in League 2 next season.

Odds released by William Hill show the Blues at 50/1 with only Macclesfield, Dagenham and Accrington Stanley (all 66/1) below them in the punting zone.

Relegated Gillingham are 8/1 joint favourites along with Darlington, while Rochdale (9/1) are next in the pecking order.

Port Vale and Bradford City are both 10/1 with Chesterfield and Wycombe a couple of points behind.

Newly promoted duo Aldershot (20/1) and Exeter City (25/1) are both rated by the bookies as a better bet than Sammy McIlroy’s men.
