Rumours are rife Chester City’s Michael Branch could be on his way out of the Saunders Honda Stadium with fellow League Two club Rochdale the likely suitors.

Rochdale manager Steve Parkin is reported as saying ‘I have been interested in Michael for some time and we have made another enquiry about his availability.

‘We got permission from Chester to speak to him last week but we are still waiting for him to get back to us.’

Michael has not featured thus far and has been told by the club that he can leave.

Moving any surplus players out would allow Mark Wright more freedom to bring in loan players, freedom that at present is restricted by the Football League salary capping ruling.
