Chesterfield have had a £150,000 bid turned down by Chester City today for midfielder Kevin Ellison.

The news was revealed in the local Chester press this morning. Speaking in the Liverpool Daily Post, Chester City chief executive Bob Gray was quoted in saying:

“Obviously Chesterfield were impressed by Kevin when we played them at the Deva Stadium last weekend, but the offer they tabled was far below our valuation of the player.

“Chesterfield weren`t the only club to inquire about Kevin`s availability, Darlington and Bradford City also contacted us, but Chesterfield were the only club to make a firm offer.”
