Chester City boss Bobby Williamson was a relieved man after seeing his side finally return to winning ways after watching his side beat League Two strugglers, Mansfield Town.

Speaking in his post match press conference, Williamson told reporters that he believes City can still be a force in League Two when he gets all his players back.

‘That was a great three points,’ said City

anager Bobby Williamson.

‘We got the breaks and it was long overdue. I am pleased for all the guys – they are a great bunch.

‘It has been disappointing to see their heads drop over the last month or two.

‘I was also pleased for our supporters as they have waited a long time for that result.

‘It was always going to be a difficult game for us and it certainly seemed that way when they scored right on half-time or, as far as I am concerned, past half-time as he added on two minutes which was longer than I expected.

‘I said at half-time that there wasn’t a goal in it and nothing separating the teams.

‘I told them to go out and apply themselves and work for each other and they would get a result which is what we did.

‘We had to go for it. I want the players to enjoy their football and they did that second half.

‘Once we get all our big players back we can be a force.’
