It has today been reported that Chester City have been tracking Bradford City`s Eddie Johnson and Yeovil Town`s Anthony Barry.

Reports suggest the Blues have offered two-year contracts to the midfield duo, who we understand are keen to return to their North West roots.

Eddie Johnson is a Chester born former Bishops` High School pupil. The 23 year old has been released by fellow League Two side Bradford City and can play either in midfield or as a striker.

Johnson started his career at Manchester United and has had loan spells at Utd feeder club Royal Antwerp along with league clubs Coventry City and Crewe Alexandra.

Meanwhile scouser Anthony Barry, 24, was a regular for Yeovil Town in League One last season and has also lined up for Accrington Stanley and Coventry City.

Chester are awaiting the players’ responses.
