In his second spell in the Chester City hotseat, gaffer Mark Wright has transformed the club’s season since taking over in February and five wins in six games has seen them climb away from the foot of the table to what surely is League Two safety.

Signed on a short term contract until the end of the season, City Chairman Stephen Vaughan is eager to retain the services of the former England centre-back.

Vaughan told the club’s official website: ‘We have made Mark what I consider a generous offer and I hope to have a decision in a few days.’

Let’s hope for a positive outcome…
