Well, the only way is up for Chester City, or is it???

The Blues made it three straight league two defeats on the run after another dire performace, this time at Sheffield’s Don Valley Stadium.

It wasn’t all bad news for Chester, who have only won twice in the whole of 2008. The Blues did manage to keep a clean sheet for an awe inspiring 58 seconds on Saturday, a feet to be proud of.

Alex Rhodes curled a testing free-kick into the area, former Chester City man Drewe Broughton headed it down and Ian Sharps nodded home to open the scoring.

Reid added a second when the Millers took advantage of another Chester City calamity. Laurence Wilson the Chester defender smashed the ball clear, but it ricocheted off Reid and into the net after 14 minutes to make it 2-0.

City did pull one back four minutes later when Ellison rifled the ball past the stranded Andy Warrington.

But after being totally outplayed by Rotherham, the hosts extended their lead in the 27th minute.

Jamie Green picked out Reid with a clever angled pass and Reid produced and inch-perfect flick to send Rhodes racing into the area to slot home his shot wide of John Danby.

Chester tried to pull back a goal with efforts from Ellison and Ryan Lowe in a far brighter second half display, but Reid could have bagged a fourth for Rotherham.

So where now for ailing Chester City. Don’t worry City fans, after all, everything is soon going to be all ‘Wright’!!
