Chester City have today confirmed enquiries for their striker Drewe Broughton from three clubs.

The Blues recently received an inquiry from new Macclesfield Town manager, Paul Ince who has said he is interested in obtaining the services of ex-Rushden and Diamonds forward Drewe Broughton at Moss Rose.

The chairman, Stephen Vaughan said ‘We have received an approach from Macclesfield asking about the availability of Drewe Broughton. ‘However, Boston United are also showing interest in the lad, and it is likely that we shall allow the player to talk to both clubs, Drewe hasn’t figured regularly in our starting line-up recently, so possibly a loan move may be beneficial to both parties.’

As well as Boston United and Macclesfield Town, it is understood Rushden and Diamonds would be keen to take Broughton back to Nene Park.

Meanwhile, Chester City manager Mark Wright is still eagerly awaiting developments on their interests in strikers Lee Steele (Leyton Orient) and Callum Willock (Brentford).

Mr. Vaughan said ‘We are still awaiting responses from both Steele and Willock, but Boston’s Antony Elding is another player who could meet the sort of requirements we are looking for, and he is also coming into our current thought process’.
