Going into Wednesday night’s local derby against Wrexham, Chester City are on a run on three straight wins since they lost 2-1 at the Racecourse Ground last month.

And Blues assistant boss Joe Hinnigan believes nine points out of three games has boosted the players morale. He said: ‘Confidence is sky high at the moment and the response has been great. Hopefully we can keep it going against Wrexham.’

Winger Abdou El-Kholti has missed the last couple of weeks through illness but could come into contention for the visit of Wrexham to the Saunders Honda Stadium, while centre-back Dave Artell (ankle) is expected to shake off a knock he picked up in the 1-0 win at Oxford last weekend.

Tom Curtis (foot) returned at the Kassam Stadium, leaving fellow midfielder Justin Walker (ankle) as the only long-term absentee.
