Former Exeter City midfield Glenn Cronin has today spoke of his frustration at not being able to start the season with his new club after he suffered a pre-season injury on the Castrol training facility.

25-year-old Cronin arrived on a two-year deal from Exeter in the summer is still some way from a return after suffering from a broken metatarsal.

But the Irishman has said that the situation has made him more eager to get back to business and prove himself in a blue and white shirt.

Glenn said: ‘It was a nightmare because when you come to a new club, you want to prove yourself and to prove the manager right. It’s a frustrating injury but as a footballer you just have to get on with it. ‘It has really bothered me but you can’t get down about it.

The most important thing is getting my foot right and then doing well for Chester City. I’ve got a lot to prove and I just want to get back and play football to the best of my ability.’

Good luck Glenn on your road to recovery.
