Cheester City’s new signing John Danby wants to be Chester City first choice goalkeeper. The 29 year old shot stopper joined Mark Wright’s Blue and White Army on a free transfer from Nationwide Conference club Kidderminster Harriers.
Danby said: ‘I want to get the number one spot – that’s my intention. I’m moving up to Chester and I’m not going up there just to sit on the bench and take things easy.
‘I know the manager will be bringing in some competition but I think that improves you. Keepers get on quite well off the field but there will only be one spot to fill.’
