Chester City now face an uphil task to save their league status after suffering another defeat in league two on Saturday afternoon.

A ten man Quakes side kept their play off hopes alive when theyended a five-game winless run with victory over
Chester. Andy Cooke missed several chances to put the hosts ahead and Chester nearly took the lead when Ben Davies saw a thunderous drive saved well by Sam Russell.

The Quakers were rocked when Clark Keltie was sent off for lashing out with an elbow on Ryan Lowe.

But they still managed a winner, Dutch defender Shelton Martis heading home a Neil Wainwright corner late on.

City now find themselves in a perilous position just two points from the bottom of the league two table. Let’s hope the Blues can recovered when they entertain Cheltenham Town at the Saunders Honda Stadium next weekend.
