Chester chairman Stephen Vaughan wants to get Ben Davies and Stuart Drummond tied down once he has done likewise with his management team.

Vaughan has offered two-year contracts to manager Mark Wright, assistant boss and physio Joe Hinnigan and coach Kelham O’Hanlon and wants to follow those up with extensions for midfielders Davies and Drummond, who have shone in a difficult campaign.

Youngster Chris Holroyd is set to pen a first professional deal on Friday and Vaughan expects further developments once Wright’s future is resolved.

‘The contracts (for the management team) are on the table and we expect that to be sorted out in the next week or so,’ Vaughan said.

‘We want to get those three tied up and then Ben Davies and Stuart Drummond will immediately be offered contracts.

‘They’ve got a lot of respect for the manager and we would expect that when he signs his contract, they will follow.’
