Chester City midfielder Stewart Drummond has targeted a ten-goal return for the season after netting his fifth in the 1-0 win at Leyton Orient on Tuesday night.

The 29-year-old former Morecambe star has netted twice in the last three Chester matches, having been restored to a central midfield role in recent weeks.

Drummond said: ‘My goalscoring target as a midfielder hasn’t changed since I’ve been a kid.

‘I’ve always wanted to score ten goals and then anything more than that is a bonus, but I’ve always tried to get ten goals early doors.

‘It’s a lot easier for me to be scoring goals in central midfield. I’m used to the runs that I’ve always been making and that’s why I’ve been scoring goals.

‘It’s a bit more difficult for me when I’m playing out wide to try and time my runs.’
