It has been confirmed that former Chester City midfielder Paul Carden has left London Road after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

The former Blues man was struggling with a lengthy commute and had been out of Keith Alexander’s first team plans, so the club opted to allow him to leave for ‘humane reasons’.

‘It is with much regret that I announce the cancellation by mutual consent of Paul Carden’s contract,’ said Fry.

‘Because of personal reasons this cancellation has been agreed by both parties.

‘Paul has been a great servant to this football club in the short period of time he has been here.’

Carden will be unable to sign for a new side until the opening of the transfer window and the 27-year-old will now be looking to find a club that can offer him regular first team football.

‘The new manager has come in and he has his own ideas and I have to respect that,’ stated Carden.
