Former Chester City midfielder Kevin McIntyre has suffered an horrific double leg break at the weekend whilst playing for Shrewsbury Town.

McIntyre could miss the rest of the season and boss Paul Simpson told the club’s official website, ‘It’s a big blow for Kevin and for us.’

‘We will have a better idea of the long term prognosis once we’ve seen the specialist.’

31-year old left-back McIntyre has had spells with Tranmere Rovers, Barrow, Doncaster Rovers, Chester City and Macclesfield Town. He joined Shrewsbury in January 2008.
