Chester City manager Mark Wright has today confirmed that Blues fans should not expect any new faces arriving at the Deva Stadium before Thursday’s transfer deadline day passes.

The news comes as Chester City’s owner Stephen Vaughan put the club up for sale. The Blues, clearly struggling on and off the field are subject to a transfer embargo and with wage capping rules also being prohibitive, it was always unlikely that any new transfers would materialise.

Meanwhile, Press reports in the local media suggested the Blues were interested in capturing the signature of former Wales and Blackburn Rovers midfield player, Robbie Savage earlier in the week

However, ultimately negotiations didn`t ‘reach a mutually agreeable conclusion’.

Let’s hope City can pull themselves out of the mire, but with Commercial revenues being virtually non existent at the Deva Stadium and attendances falling sharply, the future looks bleak to say the least.
