Chester City are now heading from bad to worse after their latest reverse, away to Morecambe in League Two.

It has now been eight games without a win for Mark Wright’s dwindling band of players and this time out, Chester City failed to win the battles in the first half, allowing Morecambe to motor into a 3-0 lead.

Wayne Curtis bagged two goals, after youngster Aaron Taylor gave the hosts the lead, heading in former Chester City midfielder Michael Twiss’s corner from close range.

Neil Wainwright crossed from the left to povide Curtis with the opportunity to sidefoot home from 10 yards out and double his side’s lead.

Curtis added a third before the break after he was picked out by Taylor and although Laurence Wilson struck a late consolation, Morecambe we’re never really in any danger of losing.

Chester City now look ahead to another tricky away trip, they make the short journey to Shropshire on Tuesday evening where they will face promotion chasing Shrewsbury Town at the New Meadow.
