If things couldn’t get any worse for Chester City fans desperate for stability at their favourite League Two club both on and off the pitch.

Today, Chester City Football Club have revealed that former owner, american Terry Smith, has recommended the Blues to a us sports company based in Germany.

A brief press statement issued on the club’s official website read: ‘Chester City yesterday recieved a fax from World Wide Sports Company based in Germany, who have expressed an interest in the club on behalf of an American based consortium.

‘The club today also recieved a phone call and fax stating that the consortium had been recommended Chester City by previous owners Gerald and Terry Smith.’

Could this link be a return to Chester for former owner Terry Smith? Only time will tell.
