Premier League newcomers Stoke City are reportedly interested in making a £1million bid for former Chester City striker Jon Walters, who curretly plays his football for Ipswich Town.

It is understood, Stoke City manager Tony Pulis is keen on Walters, who impressed him at Championship level last season.

The powerful front runner has been a big hit since arriving at Portman Road, and was voted Town’s player of the year last season.

A possible move to the premiership by Walters could signal a much needed cash windfall for Chester City.
