After a gravely disappointing start to their League Two capaign, Chester City fans will be asking themselves, where do we go from here?

For City dedicated, dwindling band of supporters, daily drama’s have seen the club sweep from one crisis to another. But the stark reality for Chester City is a statistics not worth shouting about… They have only won just two matches throughout the whole of 2008. Not exactly promotion winning form!

Time is ticking away for the cash strapped blues. If they are to turn things around, action must surely need to be taken this week.

With the transfer deadline just days away, any new managerial or coaching appointments would have their work cut out, and there’s no sign of that happening. A new manager, probably the returning former Chester City manager, Mark Wright, would have to work miracles in order to bring in new faces and shore up City’s ailing fortunes.

It is clear for all to see that City are struggling defensively and desperately need an experienced central defender to control the back line. Whilst up front City have no recognisable forwards to bang the ball in the back of the net after the sale of John Murphy for some quick cash to Irish club St Patricks.

Tactically, the team seem to be switching from one confusing diamond formation to another. Wouldn’t a traditional 4-4-2 be more successful!

Off the pitch, Deva Stadium attendances have dropped like a stone. Just 1,400 turned up last weekend and who can blame those who stayed away?

One thing is for sure, it’s going to be a long, frustrating struggle for survival this term.

So, where now for Chester City? We’d love to hear your comments below…
