A delighted Chester City manager Mark Wright believes The Blues have a good chance of avoiding the drop after they blew the relegation dog fight wide open with a 3-1 victory over Boston United.

So good was Chester’s performance, Boston United manager Steve Evans was left speachless after the match, refusing to talk to the local press.

City moved out of the relegation zone as Derek Asamoah fired home a hat-trick, the first of his career, and Wright believes the result will have left other managers fretting about their sides’ survival chances.

‘To get a good away win not only takes us out of the bottom two, it also drags one or two other sides into the mix,’ Wright said.

‘It boosts our confidence for the matches we’ve got left. To get a win under our belt like this is a great plus all round.’
