The man who brought promotion from the Nationwide Conference for Chester City could be handed vacant the Deva Stadium again, according to speculation in the local press.

Reports suggest Wright is interested in taking the job on in what would be a third spell as gaffer at the League Two club.

Wright, walked out on City on the eve of their return to the Football League and ever since, the Blues have endured a turbulent life in the Football League’s basement division.

Countless manager’s later, dwindling attendances and no cash available to mount a revival, the Blues look set for another relegation dogfight.

Chester City may find it difficult to attract the right calibre of manager. It will be an uphill task for any new boss, with Simon Davies’ successor being unable to bring in new faces given the existing transfer embargo imposed on the club.

Assistant Manager Wayne Allison has taken on the role of Caretaker Manager for Saturday’s game against Morecambe at the Deva Stadium.
