Chester City manager Mark Wright has today praised his Blues side after their last-gasp smash and grab winner ended MK Dons’ impressive unbeaten home start to the season.

Speaking to the press, gaffer Mark Wright said: ‘We didn’t deserve to have lost the games we’ve lost recently and I think we’ve proved we’re a strong side and we’ve got goals in us.

‘It’s just that we’ve missed the target too many times. We’ve had John Walters missing through injury for three weeks and then he comes back today and scores for us.

‘We’ve got 16 new players in this team and it takes time to gel. But we had to withstand a lot of aerial pressure and every time they got the ball they put it in the box and we had to go and head it – and we did just that.

‘The goal they scored was miles offside – the linesman can see it and should be doing something about it. I’m not bothered whether we deserved to win or not – it was long overdue.

‘We’ve been playing some good stuff so to come away from a place like this and show the character that we’ve shown, in being resolute and strong, was what I was really pleased with.’
