Chester City manager Mark Wright has continued to be frustrated by the football league’s transfer embargo.

Speaking to BBC Radio Merseyside, the former England and Liverpool defender admitted: ‘The job specification when we came here was to keep Chester in this league.

‘Things are hard,’ added Wright. ‘We want to bring players in at this moment in time and we can’t.

‘You need competition, you need people to be pulling trees up for you week-in, week-out and if people don’t defend properly then it’s always nice to have back-up to say ‘if you don’t someone else will’.’

With no news faces appearing on the horizon, what now for Chester City’s future in the Football League?
