Chester City boss Mark Wright has promised the club’s fans they will continue to battle until the very end of the season to ensure they remain in the Football League.

The Blues remain rooted to the bottom of the table following Sunday’s 2-1 derby defeat at their nearest rivals, Wrexham, but they are just two points adrift of Torquay United in the final position of safety and have a game in hand.

They will use that game up against Boston United on Wednesday and Wright is hoping his players can grab a morale-boosting victory which will lift them out of the drop zone.

He said: ‘We still have a game in hand and if we win that we can get out of trouble. We now need to go to Boston in midweek and get something.’

It’s not going to be easy, but come on Chester!!
