Fellow League Two sie Notts County have had their approach to sign Blues leading scorer Ryan Lowe on loan turned down, according to reports in the Liverpool Daily Post today.

The former Crewe Alexandra winger has bagged most of Chester City’s goals this season but despite the ongoing crisis at the Deva Stadium, Chester City Chief Executive Bob Gray insists they want to hold onto their star player.

Speaking in the Daily Post, he said: ‘The owner and myself are working hard behind the scenes to sort out our current problems, but what we won’t do is loan out one of our leading assets.

‘There would have to be an outstanding loan fee offered to even contemplate allowing Ryan to go on a temporary basis.’
