Chester City boss Keith Curle is hoping to tie up a loan deal for Wayne Corden and possibly add another new face on Thursday. Scunthorpe midfielder Corden, who worked with Curle at Mansfield, is set to have a one-month loan deal rubber-stamped while Lincoln striker Derek Asamoah is also understood to be a target.

Curle is also set to make a decision on Doncaster trialist Adriano Rigoglioso in the wake of the 2-2 reserves’ draw with Preston. Trialist James Vaughan, who was released by Tranmere last month, and Blues midfielder Stephen Vaughan were both on target for City’s second string.

‘We’re hopeful of getting something done on that one (Corden) and another one but there will be more to say later in the week,’ explained Assistant Manager John Gannon.
